Krish Thapa
The Warrior Monk
Krish Thapa’s story sounds almost too remarkable to be true — a former Gurkha who passed SAS selection, now a spiritual guide in the Himalayas.
That was part of the challenge. Much of a special forces career is necessarily undocumented in public, making an extraordinary background difficult for an unfamiliar audience to independently understand or verify. His retreat, run from a remote village near Pokhara, asks people to commit a week of their lives — and a considerable amount of trust — to someone whose story is difficult to communicate through credentials alone.

We travelled to Nepal and filmed Krish where his story lives.
The mountains, the rituals and the village that made him. The film traced the full arc: the boy in the Himalayas, the Gurkha selection camps of Pokhara, the SAS, and the man who came home to teach. Told through the places, the practices and the man himself, not a list of claims.

Audiences did not have to take his word for who he was.
